How You Can Help
All three families continue to adjust to their life in the United States. Their basic needs are covered in terms of housing and food. The children are in school and many of the adults have full time jobs. This does not mean, however, that life is easy. There are still many ways in which the families need our support. A few of the opportunities for the community to provide assistance are listed below:
-
Shazia has experienced back pain for quite some time and is in need of a good quality twin mattress. Are you able to contribute to the purchase of a new mattress or do you have one in lightly used condition that you are able to donate?
-
Nilofar is learning to drive. We are in need of community members to provide childcare while she takes her lessons. Can you help?
-
Ali and Masooma have decided not to renew their current lease and are looking for affordable properties in the area. Do you have a rental property in the area or know one that might be appropriate?
If you are able to support the families in any of these ways, please let us know. Click here to send us an email.

Faith Reflection
Why not this day? By Stephen Charleston
This is the day when things change for the better.
When the healing begins
When hope returns like a long lost friend.
This is the day wheen peace breaks out
When people start coming to a reasonable compromise
When common sense and the common good
Finally get their chance to be heard.
This is the day when the breakthrough happens
When old hearts become young again
When laughter can be heard once more.
Of all the days when miracles can start to happen
When love can start to grow
When your life can be touched by a great blessing:
Why not now, why not here, why not this day?
Our interfaith community grounds our work in the teachings of our diverse traditions. Each meeting of BCICRR begins with a reading or reflection from a member of the community. We share one of them here.
WHO WE ARE
Bucks County Interfaith Coalition for Refugee Resettlement (BCICRR) was founded in 2016 as an all-volunteer group working together to support two Syrian families.
In 2022, the organization began sponsoring an Afghan family of six as they resettled in Bucks County. Another Afghan family arrived in March 2025. The BCICRR coalition is made up of Christians, Jews, Muslims, and others who have come together to provide friendship, practical assistance, and financial support for these families. Along the way we have become an extended family, supporting and learning from one another.
